Cannot find farm object in configuration database: "It seems that the configuration database become corrupt which made nothing work. Fortunately my content databses were in tact.
I ended up creating a VM and installed MOSS on that with a new config database. I allowed it to create the base and mysite databases then changed the content databases once the 'placeholder' ones were in place.
Needless to say, I have a TON of databases/schemas that are just hanging around for now. I'll need to do some cleanup.
Those 3 suggestions are wise. I always hear that you should backup your sharepoint databases a certain way... is this true?"
